• Rotifer can be found in most freshwater (lake bottoms, rivers, or streams) enviornments and some soil.
• They are small in size and have soft bodies.
• The body of rotifer consists of four basic regions, head neck body and feet.
• The head carries a corona of cilia that helps the water get into the mouth.

• Because they are so small people have not really heard about there exsistance.
• They have less then 1000 cells
• They get around using the corona (crown of the cilia)
• some walk with head and foot
• There feet have a sticky substance that allows them to attach to surfaces.
• They also use the corona to get food in there mouth
• Rotifers are so transparent all there organisms can be observed easily
• They have one or two light sensitive red eye spots
• They have a variety of body shapes that to suit the different enviornmental conditions
• They can be found anywhere with water even gutters or birdbaths
• The corona can vary in design. It is not always used for locomotion.

• The foot has two toes on the bottom.
• The head has a large cup shaped mouth surrounded by cilia.
• The cilia is used to trap food and move around through the water
• They attach to plants when they grow up
• The rotifer is transparent so you can see its food inside
• They go into a clear tube like turtles and its shell and thats why they are transparent
• To eat they extend there body out of the tube
• There food includes, algae, small crustations, and pieces of plants
• They pretty much eat anything that fits in there mouth
• Rotifers do not reproduce they make eggs by themselves
• Eggs are very tough and last through the winter. They wont dry out.
• populations of rotifers can vary
• there preditors include: aquatic insects, crustations, small fish and anphibians
• they are in the phylum science classification
